Beth Krysta Wilson is Leeds born and raised, attending St Matthew’s Primary School before going on to Roundhay High School, both just up the road from the Made in Leeds studios. She graduated from Leeds Beckett Universrity with a First in journalism. Before joining the team at Made in Leeds she was a freelance presenter and a writer and sub-editor for such national magazines as Men’s Health.
Mark O’Brien is a journalist and presenter/producer of our daily magazine show The Book-It List. Born and raised in Leeds, he grew up in Halton and Seacroft before moving to Oxford where he studied English Literature. It was there that he became a finalist in GQ magazine’s annual student writing contest. He made his TV debut at the tender age of 12, interviewing Gordon Brown at Downing Street as a press packer on CBBC’s Newsround. He has worked as a freelance journalist for several years, producing stories and features for The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph, The Independent and a range of magazines. He has worked as a reporter in China, Iceland and various other weird and wonderful places, but it is his home city of Leeds that he finds more intriguing and inspiring than anywhere else.
